Visit to Uganda by
Mr. Yasutoshi NISHIMURA, Senior-Vice Minister of Cabinet Office, and
Mr. Hideki MAKIHARA, Parliamentary Vice Minister of the Environment
Mr. Yasutoshi Nishimura, Senior-Vice Minister of Cabinet Office, and Mr. Hideki Makihara, Parliamentary Vice Minister of the Environment visited Uganda between January 14 and 15, 2014 on behalf of the Japan-AU Parliamentary Friendship League. During their stay in Uganda, the Ministers had fruitful meetings including Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala KADAGA, Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Henry Oryem Okello, State Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as Japan Self Defense Force Joint Coordination Center Uganda Office.
Hon. Frank Tumwebaze visited Japan
Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of Presidency, visited Japan between November 4 to 9, 2015 upon the invitation from the Government of Japan. During his stay in Japan, the Minister had fruitful meetings including with Mr. Norio Mitsuya, Parliamentary Senior Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala KADAGA, Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Uganda visited Japan
On October 24, for about 10 minutes from 6:45 pm, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had a meeting with Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala KADAGA, Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Uganda. The Rt. Hon. Speaker visited Japan between October 23 to 27, 2015 upon the invitation from Mr. Masaski Yamazaki, the President of the House of Councillors. During her stay in Japan, the Rt. Hon. Visit to Uganda by Members of House of Councillors,
Mr. Toshiei MIZUOCHI, Mr. Tsutomu OKUBO and Mr. Shigeki IWAI
Members of House of Councillors visited Uganda to evaluate how the Japanese Official Development Assistant (ODA) has been utilized and contributed to a recipient country. The evaluation included projects on Bujagali Hydropower, the Nile Bridge, Construction of Literacy Education Hall for AIDS Orphans, and Regional Rice Research and Training Center.
On June 2, for about 15 minutes from 4:15 pm, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, in Yokohama Japan. President Museveni visited Japan to participate in the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V) held from June 1 to 3.
