Japan to provide grant to Karamoja through WFP

 

In August 2011, the Government of Japan has decided to provide through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) grant aid totaling 2 billion yen (US$25.7 million) as food aid for five countries facing serious food shortage, of which 490 million yen (US$6.3 million) was provided for Uganda.

On 16th September, the Ambassador of Japan to Uganda, H.E. Kazuo Minagawa, visited the Karamoja Region to attend the food distribution.
