Exchange of Notes of

“Project for Rural Water Supply in Lake Kyoga Basin, Eastern Uganda”




On 5 May, H.E. Kazuaki Kameda, Japanese Ambassador to Uganda, and Hon. Matia Kasaija, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, have signed the Exchange of Notes of a grant project, “the Project for the Rehabilitation of Hospitals and Supply of Medical Equipment in the Western Region in Uganda” in Kampala, Uganda.  The grant totals JPY 1.706 billion (approximately USD 15.3 million).


The project aims at improving water supply coverage in 9 Rural Growth Centers in 5 districts (Iganga, Kibuku, Luuka, Pallisa, Serere) in Lake Kyoga Basin by constructing piped water supply facilities.
