St John Bosco Mweruka Primary School is government aided in Kyalulangira sub-county Rakai District. The school had only one semi-permanent block of four classrooms, which could not cater for the 10 classes that were conducted in the school on a daily basis. There were 510 pupils, who were studying in the four classrooms the rest under trees. The school also had 10 desks in total which could only seat 42 pupils.
Through the project 10 classrooms have been constructed, 114 pupils desks/chairs procured, 12 Teacher’s desks, 14 teachers chairs, a 5-stance pit latrine was also constructed for the pupils and at the school and 3 water harvesting tanks installed. This will enable over 500 pupils to study in a favourable learning condition each year.
2.Handing Over Ceremony
The Dupty Ambaddador of Japan to Uganda, Mr. Masaki Shiga attended the handing over ceremony at St. John Bosco Mweruka Primary School on 29th September 2010.
