This grant was signed on the 8th January 2008 between the District and the Government of Japan. The three targeted schools were Ryamujuni Primary School in Burere Sub County, Nyamutamba Primary School in Kiyanga Sub County and Kamajumba Primary School in Karungu Sub County. Each of the schools has one new classroom block of three classrooms giving a total of nine classrooms. Through this project, the problem of congestion and lack of classroom space has been solved. Children who used to study in the open air are now being accommodated in well built classrooms. A total of 1,060 pupils directly benefited from the project through the use of permanent classrooms.
