Kyangwali Refugee Settlement is part of Kyangwali Sub-county, Hoima District and has a population of 16,359 refugees. The population of Ugandans in Kyangwali is over 30,000 people. There are five primary schools in Kyangwali Sub-county with an enrolment of 5,687 pupils; 48.8 percent of whom are girls.  This project has aimed at de-congesting the classrooms and contributing to the improvement of academic performance among refugees and the surrounding communities in four schools in Kyangwali Sub-county.

 

2. Handing Over Ceremony

The Ambassador of Japan to Uganda H. E. Mr. Keiichi Kato attended the hand over ceremony for classroom blocks for four primary schools constructed in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement on 12th March 2010.
