The introduction of Universal Primary Education (UPE) created many challenges for district local governments because of the sudden big increase in the number of pupils in the schools. The challenges were especially overwhelming for the relatively new districts such as Amuria, where pupil enrolment increased from 80:1 to 150:1 per classroom. The project will improve the educational environment of three of the most well-known schools in Amuria through construction ofa three-classroom block, procurement of furniture. It also procured necessary text books for the three schools to improve the quality of education. Over 2000 children will benefit from this project
