Logiri Girls’ Secondary School is located in Arua district West Nile Region; one of the regions with lowest Human Development Index in Uganda. During Idi Amin’s regime in 1970s, the region developed its infrastructure as he was from the region. However, most of the infrastructure was destroyed and the people had to flee to neighboring Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo. The school was started by Uganda Catholic Church back in 1993. It is a full board secondary school accommodating 610 students in its dormitory of four blocks with seven rooms meant to accommodate only 360. As a result, the dormitories are overcrowded with a danger of incurring infectious diseases, fire or any other accidents. The project will build a dormitory block and procure double decker beds to accommodate all the students.
