Kyegegwa is a new district curved out from Kyenjojo District in 2010 with a population of 143,000. Most of the people in the district are subsistence farmers and their average monthly income is estimated to be around Ush 12,000. The region has maintained its peace since the end of Idi Amin regime; however, the peace has ironically kept the intervention of international aids away leaving the development of the infrastructure in the limited budget of the local authorities. In Hapuuyo and Rwenyange primary schools, the pupils used to study in incomplete or over-congested class rooms, while the teachers had to travel a long way to school, causing them physical and financial difficulties. The project completed 3 unfinished classroom blocks in Hapuuyo and provided staff quarters and latrine for the teachers, while Rwenyange PS received two new classroom blocks to accommodate their students.
