Awiri Primary School is a government aided school in Dokolo District established in 1942. The school facilities were damaged severely as a result of rebels’ attacks. Some classroom blocks have been rehabilitated by government assistant and PTA contributions after the war; however the numbers of classrooms are yet sufficient. Currently 162 pupils are studying in one classroom, while small pupils who cannot be accommodated inside the classrooms are studying under the trees. This disturbing condition makes pupils unable to concentrate on their studies. The project will construct a classroom block with staffroom and a stockroom and two latrines blocks. It will also provide desks for pupils and teachers.
