The project site is situated in Lango region in Northern Uganda. The area has been heavily inflicted by LRA insurgencies over the 20 years with 1.8million IDPs created and social service delivery destructed. Since the peace agreement in 2006, the security in the region has been improving and the resettlement of IDPs progressing; however re-establishment of life has been difficult due to the delay in reconstruction of the public infrastructure. The project will provide oxen, ox ploughs, cooking equipment, improved seeds, and rice huller to 65 groups of returnee farmers’ groups and provide training to maximize their use. The project will contribute to improving their living conditions and ensuring stable food supply to the region through introducing modern agricultural techniques.
