Signing with St. Francis Acument Health Centre III
On 23 Oct, Amb. Sasayama and the representatives of St. Francis Acumet Health Centre III and Insieme Si Puo signed a Grant Contract of GGP at the Embassy. They will implement health, education, and agriculture projects for grassroots development in Uganda in the districts of Kapelebyong and Moroto respectively.

On 23 October 2024, Ambassador Sasayama and the representatives of St. Francis Acumet Health Centre III and Insieme Si Puo signed the Grant Contracts (G/C) of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) at the Embassy of Japan.

St. Francis Acumet Health Centre III will implement “The Project for the Construction of a Maternity Ward at St. Francis Acumet Health Centre III in Kapelebyong District” and will receive USD 72,694 from the Government of Japan. Through this project, the maternity department will become independent from the general ward, allowing an average of 150 patients per week to receive maternity care in an appropriate setting. In addition, the reduction in congestion in the general ward will contribute to greater access to medical services for the end recipient.

Insieme Si Puo will implement “The Project for the Construction of a Classroom Block at Nakiloro Community School in Moroto District” and will receive USD 44,446 from the Government of Japan. Through this project, all classrooms (5 classrooms) will be equipped with furniture in a number corresponding to the national standard (54 students per classroom) so that all 795 students and 6 teachers will be able to study and conduct educational activities in an appropriate environment.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Sasayama delivered a speech in which he noted that the 2 projects we are signing today are selected from the education and health sectors, all of which are high priority areas in our relations with Uganda. We are very pleased that the funds granted from the Government and the people of Japan will be put to good use in these important areas. We hope that these granted items will be properly maintained and managed to ensure their long-term utilization.
