GGP Grant: The Project for the Construction of Classroom Blocks and Latrine Blocks at Bumausi Primary School in Sironko District

Tour of the new facility
On 24th August, Ambassador Fukuzawa attended the commissioning ceremony of “The Project for the Construction of Classroom Blocks and Latrine Blocks at Bumausi Primary School in Sironko District” and formally handed over the newly constructed two classroom blocks, an administration block, two latrine blocks and school furniture. At the ceremony, Ambassador Fukuzawa expressed his hope that the facilities would be used with utmost care for current and future pupils.
The facilities were provisioned at a total cost of 80,195 USD, equivalent to over 266 million Ug. Shs, through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
This project focused on addressing the need for reducing classroom congestion and improve sanitary conditions at the school. At the time of requesting for the grant, the school had only 9 classrooms and 5 latrine pits for more than 900 students from P.1 to P.7.
