A Message from Ambassador Fukuzawa

Ambassador FUKUZAWA Hidemoto
Greetings to the people of the Republic of Uganda!

I am FUKUZAWA Hidemoto and I have the honour to address the people of this beautiful country as the Ambassador of Japan to Uganda.

Taking this opportunity let me briefly introduce myself. Before assuming my office as Ambassador, I worked in the private sector i.e. a general trading company for 43 years. During this time, I was posted overseas seven times in eight cities, four of which were on the African continent. I had a chance to work in four African countries: Angola, Kenya, Egypt and Mozambique. I also had several chances to visit Uganda but my last visit was more than 25 years ago. On arriving Kampala this time, I immediately noticed that Kampala had developed a lot and the hustle and bustle of the city was the same or even more than before.

I am very excited to be the Ambassador to this vibrant country and I would like to deepen the relationship between Japan and Uganda in various areas.

I look forward to meeting you in person at various occasions.
