GGP Grant: Japan Provides Classrooms in Butambala District

On 1 December, Ambassador Fukuzawa attended the commissioning ceremony of “The Project for the Improvement of Learning Environment at Kayenje Primary School in Butambala District” and formally handed over the newly constructed classrooms, pit latrines and furniture. At the ceremony, Ambassador Fukuzawa expressed his hope that the facilities would be used utmost care for future generations to come.
These classrooms, pit latrines and furniture were provisioned in the total cost of 66,148 USD equivalent to 241 million Ug. Shs. through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
This project focused on improving the situation that lacks enough classrooms and furniture at the school which affected pupil’s concentration during the lessons leading to poor performance.
