On 10 September, Deputy Ambassador Norimasa Yoshida attended the handover ceremony of “The Project for the Construction of a Classroom Block at Bukinda Primary School in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Kikuube District” for the newly constructed three-classroom block, two latrine blocks, a fence, a gate and a guard house.
Government Officials from Kikuube District, such as the Resident District Commander, and many other guests attended the ceremony and expressed their appreciation for the cooperation.
The project, “The Project for the Construction of a Classroom Block at Bukinda Primary School in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Kikuube District,” was implemented under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), with a grant of 122,999 USD, equivalent to over 418 million Ugandan Shillings.
This project aims to contribute to improving the educational environment for pupils at Bukinda Primary School by alleviating classroom overcrowding and improving sanitary conditions environment through the provision of an appropriate learning environment.
