Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for the Road Improvement Project Using Do-Nou Technology


On 22 January, Ambassador Fukuzawa signed a Grant Contract with Community Road Empowerment (CORE), a Japanese International NGO for a 2020 Grant Aid project “Community access road repair using Do-nou technology through utilization of locally available materials and participatory approach by youth (3rd Year)”. This project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, aims to transfer skills of labour-based road maintenance to the youth and existing road maintenance members in order to improve the accessibility of community access roads in five Eastern districts of Kaliro, Mayuge, Jinja, Sironko, and Namisindwa respectively starting this February 2021 to January 2022. The ceremony took place at the Embassy of Japan in Uganda.
