GGP Grant: Japan Supports Girls’ Education in Nakasongola

On 3 February, Mr. Horii, the Deputy Head of Mission of Japan to Uganda attended the commissioning ceremony of “The Project for the Construction of a Girls’ Dormitory at Lwabiyata Seed Secondary School in Nakasongola District” and formally handed over the newly constructed girls’ dormitory, a fence, steel gate, latrine and bathroom block with a solar PV system.
The project was funded with a total grant of 96,059 USD equivalent to over 302 million Ug. Shs through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
Japan, steadily promoting ownership of and partnership with African countries through Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) process, is committed to assisting the countries’ efforts for boosting economic growth, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and consolidating peace and good governance in Africa.
