GGP Grant: Japan Provides Classroom Block in Kamwenge District

On 17 February, the Embassy of Japan commissioned a newly constructed classroom block in Rwebikwato Primary School in Kamwenge District.
“The Project for the Construction of a Classroom Block at Rwebikwato Primary School in Kamwenge District” was signed between the Embassy of Japan and Kamwenge District Local Government in 2018 with a total grant of 78,617 USD equivalent to over 280 million Ug. Shs.
The support is part of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), a scheme administered by the Embassy of Japan to support community development projects to uplift the life of people at the grassroots. So far, a total of 261 projects have been funded under the scheme since its initiation in Uganda in 1992.
