Ambassador Fukuzawa exchanged remarks with JOCVs
Ambassador Fukuzawa held a reception for Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV) to celebrate International Volunteer Day at the Ambassador’s residence on 2 December, 2022. Around 60 guests from the Ugandan government, business community and international organizations attended the reception. Hon. Henry Okello Oryem, State Minister for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was the guest of honor. This reception was a good opportunity to confirm cooperation for the further development of JOCV program.
Ambassador Fukuzawa stated that JOCV's community-based activities and the Ugandan people who have worked with JOCVs have been a valuable asset to both countries and he hopes that the JOCV program will continue to contribute to Ugandan development.
In his speech, Hon. State Minister Okello said that there are Ugandans who have taken classes from JOCV teachers, including government officials and parliamentarians, and that the activities of the JOCVs are contributing to the development of Uganda, and encouraged them to continue to work hard in cooperation with local people.
