New Year's Reception

On January 24, Ambassador Fukuzawa hosted the annual New Year’s Reception at his residence. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the reception was held for the first time in three years, and about 70 participants from the Japanese community in Uganda attended the reception and deepened their friendships.
In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Fukuzawa touched upon that the development assistance projects to Uganda and the achievements of our predecessors, and stated that he will continue to place importance on further deepening people-to-people exchanges and developing bilateral relations.
Mr. Uchiyama, President of the Japanese Association of Uganda, expressed in view of the situation where the restrictions on COVID-19 are being eased, he would like to create many opportunities to deepen friendship among Japanese community.
