On 3 February, following the visit of a Japanese delegation of the “Uganda ICT Business Study Tour” for Small and Medium Enterprises, taking the opportunity of organized by JICA Uganda Office, Ambassador Fukuzawa hosted ICT Business Reception. Around 30 participants from the government and business sector attended the reception, where exchanged views productively with the presence of Hon. Chris Baryomunsi, Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Monika Musenero, Minister of  Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Aminah Zawedde, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, and H.E. Kaahwa Tophace, Ambassador of Uganda to Japan.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Fukuzawa expressed his hope that the reception would be an opportunity to build a network in the ICT business field between Uganda and Japan and to promote more active exchanges between the two countries. 
Mr. Fukuhara, Senior Representative of JICA Uganda Office, explained that while JICA Uganda Office were hosting a delegation from Japan this time, an Ugandan delegation would be sent to Japan the following week.
In his speech, Hon. Baruomunsi stated his hope that the ICT sector will contribute to the development of both countries by strengthening the bilateral partnership and learning from each other over the long term.
Hon. Dr. Musenero expressed her gratitude in her speech for the bilateral exchanges between the two countries and her hope for further cooperation in the field of science and technology, including ICT.
In her remarks, Dr. Zawedde mentioned her hope to learn a lot from Japan in order to contribute to the development of ICT sector in Uganda, as she will be the leader of the delegation going to Japan.
