On November 18, a representative from the Embassy of Japan handed over medical equipment to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacho in Gulu District.

“The Project for the Procurement of Medical Equipment at St. Mary’s Hospital Lacho in Gulu District” was signed between the Embassy of Japan and the hospital in 2019 with a total grant of 99,500 USD.

The hospital has been facing a challenge of chronic shortage of medical equipment, which result in delay and postponement of operations.
The fund was used to procure two anesthetic machines and one ultrasound scan to enhance service delivery capacity of the hospital for its patients.
