GGP Grant: Japan Supports Health in Yumbe District

On October 6th, Ambassador Fukuzawa officiated in the commissioning of newly constructed outpatient department at Ariwa Health Centre IV in Yumbe District.

"The Project for the Construction of an Outpatient Department at Ariwa Health Centre IV in Yumbe District" was signed between the Embassy of Japan and the health centre in 2018 with a total grant of 121,723 USD equivalent to over 414 million Ug. Shs.
The health centre is located in the Bidi bidi refugee settlements having more than 50,000 people in its catchment area.
The fund was used to construct the outpatient department and latrine block, to procure a set of medical furniture and solar power system.
