GGP Grant: Japan Constructs Operation Theatre in Kitgum District
2024/11/29

On 23 November, Ambassador Sasayama attended the commissioning ceremony of “The Project for the Construction of an Operation Theatre at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kitgum District” to hand over the newly constructed operation theatre.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Oryem Henry Okello and Government Officials from Kitgum District, and many other guests attended the ceremony and expressed their appreciation for the cooperation.
The facilities were provisioned at a total cost of 91,099 USD, equivalent to over 325 million Ug. Shs, through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
We expect that this project will enable the hospital's surgical environment to meet national standards, providing a safe and hygienic setting for surgical patients and expectant and nursing mothers, and to contribute to improving the access to healthcare for the residents of the surrounding community.
